Whether trying to locate vintage or antique signs for collecting or for decorating, sometimes you can easily run out of ideas to find vintage signs. Of course you can always go to an antique dealer which is likely the easiest option, however maybe not the best. Remember that an antique dealer is in business to make money so you might not get the best price.
A great place to start looking for antique metal signs is to look for estate auctions. While this might sound a bit morbid, it's a great way to find antiques in general. Your local newspaper will most likely have listings of estate auctions in your area. Many older people keep items for many years, never realizing that the item might be worth money or that it's in demand. If you're the only knowledgeable vintage sign buyer at the auction, you just might come home with some really great buys.
